Fully functional (5160 blade), forged COMPLETELY from scratch, completely hand made.
This design is a variant of the first sword I ever designed, which was inspired by the Dragon Buster sword from Secret of Mana (Super Nintendo)
I learned a tremendous amount with it and am very pleased with the results. The blue on the sword is a patina, the wire wrapping on the handle comes from 6 different tiny wires to make one larger wire in which it was wrapped.
It's engraved in Danish Viking Rune (translated into Danish and then into Rune). This side says "The Righteous Need not fear me, I give life to the good", which is a blessing, the sword is a life giving sword, granite thats more of a Japanese idea, but all the same I found it very fitting here. And yes its a hand and half (or Bastard) sword, not a viking sword, mainly because I like these A LOT more. My heritage is Danish Viking, hence why I used it. I wanted to appear more like an heirloom than a bran new sword.
Comments apprecaited, unless you don't like it in which case remember I have a sword, I know how to use it and I have a forge that reaches over 2000 degrees, ha. j/k
