This is a quill and ink drawing I did yesterday and today.
Aerith from Final Fantasy VII
This is the first of four pages. Its of her theme song, specifically from Advent Children for the piano. Composed by the best, Nobou Uematsu. I learned the piano because of this song, if you haven't heard it, you are SERIOUSLY missing out.
The quill work came out beautifully, you cannot capture the difference in feel in a picture though. Quill ink sits on top of the paper, rather that being absorbed like normal inks. Its also a lot more black and doesn't have that oil shine to it. I then lightly colored it, just enough to trick the eye into a few things. I then aged it, it has a wondrous feel, it simply feels very old in your hands, which I love the effect.
No digital work done to this, this is how the coloring came out.
Personally I really love it. Now I got 3 more pages to write, ha. Talk about checking the notes, then re-checking and then checking again. Can't make a mistake with a quill! lol...
Hope you like it!
I'll post two macro shots of it too, check my gallery
Ever thought of using Finale to write the music out? Its a nice transcription man. Using finale can help with the note troubles and other things too. But I like how you got that score going.
You checked ichigos? They have a music sheet section for final fantasy they might have it.
Yes I have, I have a demo verson at the moment, haven't got around to using it enough to buy it. This was done from Arnold Morrison's arragement. Ha, I'm not quiet at the place where I can figure out all the notes, that and I have a real thing for having it the way it was orginally written.
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
